Gmail is rolling out a new “Copy code” button for two-factor authentication (2FA) emails on Android and iOS. The button appears in the inbox under the email subject line, next to the email preview, and lets users copy the verification code without opening the message.
According to reports, the rollout is reaching specific mobile app versions, including Gmail for Android 2026.09.07.x and Gmail for iOS 6.0.260907. Both outlets describe the feature as a convenience update that shortens the steps needed to use a verification code. NDTV also notes that the button is not available in Gmail on the web at the time of reporting.
