The Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey finds that 33% of adult Filipinos expect the Philippine economy to improve over the next 12 months. Released on Monday, the poll shows 24% expect the economy to worsen, while 32% expect it will stay the same. An additional 11% do not provide an answer.
SWS conducted the survey from June 20 to 29, 2026. The SWS reports a net economic optimism of +10 points, calculated as the share of “economic optimists” minus the share of “economic pessimists.” This result is classified by SWS as “fair,” falling within a stated range of +10 to +19.
Across the outlets, the figures on expected economic direction and the survey period are consistent. The main difference is framing: one report emphasizes the percentage expecting improvement, while another highlights the net optimism measure and its “fair” category.
