Hon. Abdulmumin Jibrin, member of the House of Representatives for Kiru/Bebeji Federal Constituency, has urged the All Progressives Congress (APC) governors to negotiate with Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, stressing that the ruling party needs him more than he needs them.Speaking on Arise News, Jibrin argued that Wike’s political influence remains strong and that other parties, including the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), are ready to welcome him if he leaves the APC.“Somebody like Wike will continue to be Wike in and out of office. He has qualities like the President. Automatically, APC needs Wike much more than he needs us,” Jibrin said.He noted that President Bola Tinubu had already negotiated with Wike to secure his support, warning that without such engagement, the Rainbow Coalition could have emerged as a major threat to APC.Jibrin criticized APC governors for opposing Wike through press conferences, insisting that each state’s political situation is unique and requires pragmatic dialogue. “Anything that I see can pose a danger to the re-election of the President, I will always intervene,” he added.The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) recently listed Wike’s Rainbow Coalition as fielding over 100 senatorial candidates and numerous House of Representatives and State Assembly contenders, showing its growing political weight ahead of the 2027 elections.
