Disney is reorganizing its consumer products structure by moving its global licensing and publishing businesses under Disney Entertainment – Studios. Cathleen Taff is named president of the combined Disney Entertainment – Studios and Consumer Products team, with the change taking effect Oct. 4. Disney also keeps certain retail and merchandising operations within Disney Experiences.

Under the plan, Disney Parks Merchandise, Disney Store, and DisneyStore.com remain part of Disney Experiences. The restructuring is intended to align licensing activities with the studio side of the company’s entertainment operations. Variety and Deadline both report that the shift is effective Oct. 4 and is part of a broader consolidation of functions across Disney’s entertainment and consumer products units.

The coverage differs in emphasis: Variety focuses on Taff’s expanded role within the newly combined leadership structure, while Deadline adds additional detail about the reorganization and highlights expanded responsibilities for other senior executives, including Lisa Baldzicki. Both outlets describe the same core organizational change—licensing and publishing moving to the Studios umbrella and parks-related merchandising staying with Experiences.
