Fairfax India is cleared by the Competition Commission of India (CCI) to acquire an additional stake in IIFL Capital Services, according to multiple reports.
The proposal includes a preferential equity issuance alongside shares tendered by public shareholders under a mandatory open offer. One outlet also notes that FIHM, a Mauritius-based private investment holding company, is involved as part of the transaction structure.
While both sources confirm CCI’s approval and describe the broad transaction mechanics, they emphasize different components. One focuses on the overarching CCI clearance and the additional stake acquisition; the other highlights how the deal is carried out through a mix of preferential allotment and open-offer participation by public shareholders.
