The Commission on Audit (COA) flags the Office of the Vice President (OVP) for documentation deficiencies and discrepancies in its 2025 disaster relief operations worth almost ₱168 million. COA’s findings are contained in a 273-page report on the 2025 Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Fund, submitted to Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro on August 28, when he is serving as concurrent chairman of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council.
According to the audit, COA finds inconsistencies between situational reports (sitreps) submitted by concerned agencies or local government units and the OVP’s own sitreps. The discrepancies cited amount to ₱19.67 million. Other issues mentioned across reports include missing or incomplete documents tied to the relief efforts.
