Religious leader Primate Elijah Ayodele of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church says President Bola Tinubu may not complete a second presidential term if he wins the 2027 election, and that Vice-President Kashim Shettima could take over before Tinubu’s tenure ends.
In a video released on Tuesday, Ayodele frames his claim as a warning based on what he describes as divine revelation. He says Tinubu’s health would require prayers if he were to finish his current tenure and secure another four years. He also points to the death of former President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua in 2010 while in office as a precedent, describing a possible outcome involving an “emergency government.”
Both outlets report that Ayodele alleges people around Tinubu shield him from views and messages that could challenge his decisions. They differ mainly in presentation but align on the core assertion: that Tinubu would not complete his second term and that Shettima would succeed him before 2031.
