Disability rights groups in Ogun State urge Governor Dapo Abiodun to fully implement the Ogun State Disability Law before leaving office. The organisations—JONAPWD and the Spinal Cord Injuries Association of Nigeria (SCIAN)—make the appeal at a joint press briefing, saying the law is still not operational.
They note that the Ogun disability law was signed in 2017 but has not been put into practice. The groups call for concrete steps to ensure the law takes effect ahead of Abiodun’s remaining time in office, which they describe as about eight months.
