A 41-year-old woman in Delhi alleges that she is drugged and raped after meeting a man who promised her a job, police said. The woman, who lives in Laxmi Nagar, says the accused, Deepak Bansal, befriended her about two years ago and later approached her under the pretext of helping her secure employment.
The Times of India reports that after the alleged assault, Bansal threatens her with an acid attack and says he will share a video if she complains. It also says the woman approaches the police months later following harassment. NDTV similarly states that police have registered a case based on the woman’s complaint. Both outlets report that Bansal is absconding. Police are conducting raids and attempting to locate and apprehend him, officials said, with the investigation underway.
