Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha is appointed chairman of the Committee on Petitions of the Upper House. Multiple outlets report that the appointment follows the reconstitution of the committee by Rajya Sabha Chairman C P Radhakrishnan, with the panel coming into effect from 20 May 2026. Chadha, who recently switched from the Aam Aadmi Party to the Bharatiya Janata Party, is named as chairman in a Rajya Sabha notification. Reports also say the reconstituted committee includes additional members nominated to the panel by the Rajya Sabha chair. Business Standard lists the members besides Chadha, including Harsh Mahajan, Gulam Ali, Shambhu Sharan Patel, Mayankkumar Nayak, Masthan Rao Yadav Beedha, Jebi Mather Hisham, Subhasish Khuntia, Rwngwra Narzary, and Sandosh Kumar P. Separately, The Hindu and Business Standard also cite a Rajya Sabha secretariat notice dated 20 May 2026, stating that Rajya Sabha Chairman nominates Dr Menaka Guruswamy to the Joint Committee on the Corporate Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2026.
