Google is testing a feature that lets Gemini place calls to local businesses on a user’s behalf. The aim is to reduce time spent waiting on hold for tasks such as making reservations, checking product availability, or rescheduling appointments.
The feature is offered as an early experiment and is expected to first roll out to Pixel 11 owners in the United States. Access appears tied to customers who pay for a Gemini subscription. Google describes it as an option where users can delegate the calling workflow to Gemini instead of dialing themselves.
Both outlets describe the same core concept: Gemini initiates and manages the call to complete common local-business requests. The difference in emphasis is mainly on convenience and the “no wait” aspect, rather than the specific technical details. At this stage, the feature is a limited test rather than a broadly available product update, with availability constrained by device model, country, and subscription status.
