HBO Max is adding Sara Gilbert to the cast of its upcoming Superman spinoff comedy series, The People v. Gorilla Grodd. Multiple outlets report that Gilbert is set to play an “important journalist.”
The series centers on Jimmy Olsen and a superintelligent gorilla, Gorilla Grodd, and follows the plot in which Grodd is convicted of murdering his father, the King of Gorilla City. Deadline reports the show is a half-hour comedy and that Gilbert will appear opposite Skyler Gisondo’s Jimmy Olsen and Jimmy Tatro’s titular ape.
