KelpDAO files a lawsuit against LayerZero and its CEO, Bryan Pellegrino, over an rsETH bridge exploit it says occurred on April 18. The crypto firm alleges the attack led to losses estimated at $292 million and argues that LayerZero played a role beyond providing infrastructure.
According to KelpDAO, LayerZero endorsed the bridge’s setup prior to the exploit, including by providing written approval for the configuration used. KelpDAO also targets Pellegrino personally, asserting that the endorsement and related actions support its claims.
Both outlets report that Pellegrino disputes the allegations. He dismisses the lawsuit as meritless, according to Cointelegraph, framing the suit as lacking a sufficient legal basis. The reporting focuses on whether LayerZero’s prior endorsement can be tied to the bridge that was later exploited, and whether that establishes liability for the parties named in the case.
