The post alleged the power station exploded due to overcharging, and it gained significant attention before the user acknowledged it was fabricated. In her apology, she says she used AI to create the claim and offers an apology to the itel team and customers who may have believed or been affected by the post. She also says she never intended to damage the brand and says she will not share such content again.
The reports also note that itel publicly warned about the image, describing it as fabricated and threatening legal action against anyone deliberately using AI or misleading content to spread false information about its products. Across the coverage, no verified explosion has been linked to the itel Power Tank similar to the AI image, and the company highlights safety features and battery protections in its product.
