Phillips Consulting Limited releases a revised edition of its 2026 State Performance Index (pSPI), replacing the initial 2026 pSPI issued on 23 July 2026. The updated version is presented as the definitive benchmark for assessing and measuring state performance across Nigeria.
Vanguard and Premium Times both report that the revision updates the index’s methodology and incorporates newly available audited financial information. In particular, Vanguard says the revised edition includes newly available FY2025 audited financial statements, improving the basis on which states are evaluated. The outlets describe the change as strengthening the measurement framework used in the pSPI.
While the sources focus on different wording, both agree on the core point: the 2026 pSPI has been revised, supersedes the earlier release, and is positioned as a strengthened benchmark. Neither outlet reports changes to the index’s overall purpose, only that the revision improves inputs and the assessment approach.
