A 25-year-old man is arrested after police allege he threw his two daughters from a sixth-floor apartment balcony in Kakamigahara City, Gifu Prefecture, central Japan. Police say the children, aged 4 and 1, fall onto mats that were arranged after an emergency call from the man’s wife.
According to reports, police receive the call late Friday night after the wife says her husband is acting violently. The children are taken to hospital, and both are reported to be conscious. Sources state they are not believed to be in life-threatening condition.
