Deon Energy, an Ahmedabad-based solar engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) firm, files draft papers with India’s market regulator SEBI to launch an initial public offering (IPO). The company’s proposal combines a fresh equity issue with an offer for sale by promoters, with the stated proceeds aimed at financing solar power generation plans and other company requirements.
Across outlets, details of the proposed use of funds are consistent. Deon Energy plans to use money from the fresh issue to develop a 30 MW solar power plant in Gujarat, described as a DC independent power production setup spread across sites in Junagadh, Surendranagar and Kachchh districts. It also intends to allocate a portion of proceeds to working capital and general corporate purposes. The offer for sale component would direct proceeds to the selling promoters rather than the company.
The outlets also note that Deon Energy has not yet announced key IPO terms such as a price band or issue dates. The company’s existing business covers turnkey solar installation services and associated operations and maintenance, and it is positioning the IPO as a step from EPC work into power generation. Listing is proposed on both the BSE and NSE, with an issue manager mentioned in one report.
