Focus Features releases a second full trailer for “Werwulf,” the next horror film by Robert Eggers. The footage continues to build suspense around a werewolf story set under a full moon, with villagers confronting an ancient supernatural threat as Middle Ages folklore appears to become reality.
Sources say the film is set in 13th-century England and is presented with dialogue in old Middle English. “Werwulf” stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson as a cursed farmer, alongside Lily-Rose Depp, Willem Dafoe, and Ralph Ineson, among others. Both outlets frame the movie as part of Eggers’ continued gothic horror style, following his earlier reimagining of Dracula in “Nosferatu.” One outlet highlights the trailer’s “gnarly” and visceral approach, while another emphasizes how the new project pairs with the tone established by “Nosferatu,” describing it as a thematic companion.
Details also include Eggers’ returning creative team, with cinematography by Jarin Blaschke and music by Robin Carolan. The film is set for theatrical release this Christmas.
