Guyana accredits 19 tourism professionals through its Bird Guide Accreditation Programme to expand the country’s capacity to deliver specialized birding experiences for visitors. The accreditation ceremony takes place at Herdmanston Lodge and involves the Guyana Tourism Authority as well as partners connected to bird conservation and regional training.
According to reports, 12 guides complete the first phase of the Coastal Bird Guide Certification, while seven guides based in the Rupununi complete their bird guide training through the programme’s next track. The efforts are presented as part of wider steps to strengthen birding tourism and improve guide skills.
