The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) seizes 4.38 kg of amphetamine worth about ₹3.5 crore in two separate operations at railway stations in Bhopal, and arrests two drug traffickers, according to officials. The seizures occur in back-to-back actions on September 23 and 24, with the drug found in passengers’ luggage.
In the first operation, DRI officers intercept a male passenger arriving at Bhopal Junction from Hazrat Nizamuddin in Delhi. Three polythene packets containing 2.014 kg of a white crystalline substance are allegedly hidden in his blue duffle bag, and NDPS Field Test Kit results confirm it is amphetamine.
In the second operation, DRI officers intercept a Nigerian female passenger at Rani Kamlapati railway station. Four packets are reportedly hidden inside four salwar kurtas in her baggage, and tests reportedly confirm the substance as amphetamine. The four packets allegedly total 2.368 kg. Both cases are registered under the NDPS Act, 1985, and investigations continue.
