A 23-year-old man from Pune is alleged to have been strangled to death by two friends, who later transported and dumped his body in Maharashtra’s Beed district, police say. The victim, Abhishek Namdev Karkambe, is reported to have been taken from his friend’s side under false pretences, after which he was killed.
Police say that after Abhishek failed to return home, his father reported him missing and confronted the friends, who reportedly gave evasive answers. An unidentified body was then found by police in the Kanifnath Ghat area in Beed district. Authorities circulated photographs to identify the deceased, and after confirmation, the father filed a complaint.
Both outlets report that two accused were arrested following the complaint and identification. They also agree that the motive is unclear at this stage, and police are investigating what led to the killing. The reports differ mainly in emphasis: one focuses on the sequence of luring, strangling, and the dumping location, while the other adds that the body was transported in a four-wheeler and specifies the retrieval and identification steps.
