Two chieftains of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Sokoto State, Abubakar Attajiri and Aminu Gidan-Kanawa, defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections. Both join the APC with their supporters, and their move is announced during a gathering at the APC state secretariat.
According to the reports, the new members are received at the APC secretariat by APC state party chairman Haruna Adiya. Adiya welcomes them and states they will be given opportunities within the party’s structure. The defectors also explain that their decision is linked to the record of Governor Ahmed Aliyu and the leadership of former governor and current senator Aliyu Wamakko.
