Kohli scores 55th ODI century and reaches 15,000 runs in IND vs WI opener

Virat Kohli continued his excellent record in run chases with a scintallating century in the IND vs WI 1st ODI on Sunday. The 37-year-old mixed aggression with ease to race to century in just 74 balls, his 55th in ODIs. Overall, Virat now has 86 international centuries, 14 behind Sachin Tendulkar.Virat walked into bat after India lost Rohit Sharma in the 12th over. With Shubman Gill for company, the veteran settled in and found his tempo quickly. In his typical fashion, Virat plucked the gaps at ease and kept the chase going, stitching a valuable partnership to take the game into his own hands. He reached his half-century off just 40 balls. Kohli then ticked off another milestone, as he completed 15,000 runs in ODI cricket, becoming only the second Indian batter to do so. Kohli is only behind Sachin in the ODI run charts and he is hunting down the mark in the build up to the 2027 World Cup.
