Market valuations of six of India’s top-10 most valued companies rise by a combined ₹74,111.57 crore over the past week, according to reports tracking BSE-listed firms. Reliance Industries is the biggest gainer, adding about ₹24,696.89 crore to take its market valuation to ₹18,33,117.70 crore. The other companies that see gains are ICICI Bank, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Bajaj Finance, Larsen & Toubro, and Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC). In contrast, HDFC Bank, Bharti Airtel, State Bank of India, and Hindustan Unilever experience valuation erosion.
The BSE benchmark Sensex ends the week up 177.36 points, or 0.23%. Sources describe trading as highly volatile and range-bound, with sharp intraday swings. Factors cited include persistent weakness in the rupee, mixed global cues, sectoral rotation, and ongoing uncertainty about inflation and interest rates. One outlet also notes global optimism and domestic buying contributing to the market’s recovery, even as some large companies record declines.
