WhatsApp is reportedly testing a redesigned bottom navigation bar for its Android app. Feature tracker reports say the new layout includes rounded corners and a floating-style design that visually separates the navigation bar from the rest of the interface.
The Android changes are described as drawing inspiration from WhatsApp’s updated iOS design language, often referred to as “Liquid Glass.” The reports suggest the goal is to bring a more iOS-like appearance to Android while still keeping Android-specific elements intact. Separately, one outlet also reports a warning from cybersecurity vendor Quick Heal Technologies about a malware campaign targeting WhatsApp users, particularly those in finance. The reported scheme involves attackers using compromised accounts and messages that impersonate trusted contacts to distribute malicious files.
