Nigerian Air Force completes local reassembly of first two Airbus H125 helicopters

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has successfully completed the local reassembly of its first two H125 helicopters at NAF Base Ikeja, Lagos.In a statement issued on Monday, the service explained that the helicopters were delivered by Airbus Helicopters and reassembled with the support of Airbus technical experts. The exercise, according to NAF, is designed to boost technical collaboration, facilitate knowledge transfer, and enhance the practical exposure of its personnel in maintaining modern rotary-wing platforms.Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, hailed the achievement as a milestone in strengthening the service’s technical and operational capacity. “Beyond acquiring modern platforms, we are committed to developing the knowledge, partnerships and support systems required to maximise their operational value and sustain them throughout their service life,” he said.The H125 helicopters are expected to enhance ongoing air operations, including surveillance, tactical mobility, and other mission support roles.NAF also expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his continued support and strategic direction, noting that his administration’s commitment to national security has been instrumental in fleet modernisation and operational effectiveness.
