Jio adds 2.4 million wireless mobile subscribers in August, according to TRAI data cited by multiple outlets. Airtel gains about 2.1 million users in the same period. The figures reflect changes in subscribers across India’s mobile service providers during the month.
TRAI data also shows that Vodafone Idea and BSNL add subscribers in August, while MTNL records a decline. Business Line reports Vodafone Idea and BSNL both increase their mobile bases, with MTNL decreasing. NDTV provides more granular figures, saying Vodafone Idea adds about 506,000 wireless mobile subscribers and BSNL gains nearly 493,000. Across the reports, the broad direction is consistent: Jio and Airtel grow their user bases, Vodafone Idea and BSNL also see gains, and MTNL contracts.
