Mozilla rolls out a redesign for Firefox on both desktop and mobile, updating the browser’s look with rounded “bubble” tabs and a more curved, consistent interface. The update also refreshes visual elements such as the address bar shape and various icons, colors, and themes.
Mozilla says the changes are intended to modernize Firefox’s visual language while keeping performance stable, stating the redesign carries “no cost to your browser performance.” The company also reintroduces Compact Mode, which reduces the size of tabs and the toolbar to give more screen space to web content, with an auto-compact option for smaller screens.
Both outlets frame the redesign as part of a broader series of recent Firefox improvements. They note Mozilla has shipped major feature additions over the past year, including elements such as homepage widgets, Split View, a built-in VPN, and controls for disabling parts of the browser’s AI features, alongside the latest interface overhaul.
