One outlet reports that investigators obtained records containing communications involving nearly 50 journalists and government officials, and that the scope expanded beyond lawmakers. Another outlet reports that the probe collected “communications” from members of the news media, including major television networks and newspapers, based on what a Senate senior lawmaker said.
