DoorDash says it will create 3,000 jobs in India over the next two years through a new technology hub in Hyderabad, Telangana, which it opens this week.

The hub initially employs teams focused on customer support and general and administrative functions, with 500 professionals expected at the start, according to the Telangana government statement. The company is also described as expanding beyond its existing presence in Pune, where it runs software, data, and analytics operations that stem from its 2021 acquisition of robotics startup Chowbotics.

Across the coverage, the broader context is that global firms are increasingly setting up offshore “global capability centres” (GCCs) in cities such as Hyderabad. Outlets note that DoorDash is joining other companies—including Costco, McDonald’s, Charles Schwab, Marriott, and Southwest Airlines—that have opened or expanded operations in Hyderabad in recent months. One outlet also frames the move within India’s role as a leading GCC destination, citing industry figures on the number of centres, employment, and revenue.
