Jio Financial Services and Allianz Europe B.V. inject fresh capital into their 50:50 general insurance joint venture, Jio Allianz General Insurance Limited. Jio Financial invests ₹320.05 crore, while Allianz Europe makes an identical investment, bringing the combined infusion to ₹640.10 crore, according to exchange disclosures cited by multiple outlets.
The new funds are allotted through a rights issue of equity shares, each with a face value of ₹10, subscribed for cash at par. Jio Financial says the investment increases its aggregate exposure to the JV to ₹375 crore. The filings describe the capital as supporting the JV’s business operations and note that the transaction is treated as a related-party transaction conducted on an arm’s-length basis.
Outlets align on the amounts, ownership structure, and the purpose of the capital injection, with differences mainly in phrasing and emphasis. One report highlights the JV’s continued funding as it develops its India insurance business, while another focuses on Jio Financial’s updated investment position following the latest round.
