A Delhi University student alleges she is drugged and gang-raped in Lucknow after being lured off her train journey. According to multiple reports, the victim, a student of Daulat Ram College, filed a first information report using the “zero FIR” mechanism at Anand Vihar Railway Station police in New Delhi. The case is transferred to Lucknow police under the zero-FIR provision on May 23. Lucknow police have registered a case covering gang rape and related offences, including wrongful confinement and hurt caused by poison, along with criminal intimidation. The FIR names two accused and also includes an unidentified person, according to one source. The allegations describe the victim being persuaded to break her trip from Jaunpur to Delhi and being taken to a rented room, where the assaults allegedly occur over multiple days; one report says she later is abandoned at a Lucknow station with a general bogie ticket. Police say several teams have been formed to investigate the case and pursue leads.
