A 44-year-old miner, Onai Olatunde Nassy of Norton Street, Lodge, Georgetown, is charged after police allegedly find about 36 pounds of cocaine concealed in frozen fish. According to reports, he is intercepted while transporting the fish at Richmondville in Providence, East Bank Demerara on Sunday.

All outlets say Nassy appears in Diamond Magistrates’ Court before Magistrate Tomika Clarke (spelled Tamika in one report). He is remanded to prison following the Wednesday court appearance. The charges described include possession of narcotics and, in one outlet, possession for the purpose of trafficking.

While the core facts are consistent across the three publications—identity, alleged quantity, concealment method, location of interception, and the remand—reporting emphasis differs slightly. One outlet notes he pleads not guilty, while another states he is not required to plead when he appears. Another specifies the alleged charge wording related to trafficking.
