Actor Vishal Jethwa supports actress Rupali Ganguly’s remarks that television actors have historically been looked down upon, and says the industry should not categorize performers by the platform they work in. Speaking at FICCI FRAMES 2026, Jethwa agrees with the sentiment that perceptions often shift depending on whether someone is seen as a “TV actor” versus a film actor.
Jethwa says people tend to label actors based on their medium—expressing that such categorization limits how performers are viewed and recognized. He argues that actors should be seen as actors, regardless of whether they have worked in TV, theatre, advertisements, or modelling, and that all performers should receive equal opportunity.
Both outlets also note Jethwa’s upcoming work. He is set to appear next in the 2026 release “Shakti Shalini,” starring alongside Aneet Padda. The Free Press Journal adds that the film is directed by Aditya Sarpotdar and is positioned within Maddock Films’ expanding horror-comedy universe, and it is expected to clash with Shah Rukh Khan’s “King.”
