Sophie Cunningham responds to a viral moment involving A’ja Wilson after Wilson’s heated exchange with a fan during Game 2 of the Indiana Fever vs. Las Vegas Aces first-round playoff series. Multiple outlets report that Cunningham posts a TikTok referencing her own earlier viral “pointing” moment, effectively taking a light, taunting jab at Wilson ahead of the series’ deciding Game 3.
According to reports, Wilson drew a technical foul during the confrontation and was also subject to a pending league fine. Coverage also notes that the Fever and Aces are preparing to head into Game 3 after Indiana’s Game 2 win, and Cunningham’s clip circulates quickly on social media, reaching a wider audience shortly before the next matchup.
Outlets differ mainly in tone and framing: some describe Cunningham’s response as a joke or troll, while others focus on the backdrop of Wilson’s pending fine and the fact that Wilson allegedly attempted to have the fan ejected after he pointed at her and exchanged words. All accounts tie Cunningham’s post to the same controversy and timing around Game 3.
