Danish jeweller Pandora opens what it says is the world’s largest jewellery factory in Vietnam. The company starts operations at a new plant in Ho Chi Minh City on Thursday, marking its biggest manufacturing site and its first production facility outside Thailand.
Pandora says the factory is part of efforts to diversify its manufacturing footprint and strengthen supply-chain resilience. The company describes the project as a US$150 million investment and says it is its fourth worldwide manufacturing site. Once fully operational, it is expected to add capacity across Pandora’s production network, increasing overall manufacturing capacity by around 50%.
Multiple outlets report that the Vietnam plant is expected to employ about 7,000 workers when it reaches full operations. Coverage also frames the opening as a step in Pandora’s broader manufacturing strategy, with Vietnam replacing or supplementing production previously concentrated in Thailand.
