The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) is carrying out special patrol operations ahead of the 2026 Eid-el-Kabir celebrations. Vanguard reports that the FRSC begins a nationwide deployment involving more than 30,000 personnel, including regular officers and special marshals, aimed at improving road safety and supporting smooth movement of travellers.
Across states, multiple FRSC commands report specific deployments of officers, vehicles and support units. In Kwara State, the FRSC deploys 950 officers, along with patrol vehicles and ambulances. In Anambra State, over 210 personnel are deployed for special patrol and traffic management. In Kano State, the FRSC announces the deployment of 1,889 personnel for the Eid-el-Kabir period. The FRSC also mobilises personnel and patrol vehicles in Niger and Jigawa states to support safer highways during the celebrations.
