Formula One’s final races in Qatar and Abu Dhabi will go ahead as planned, F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali says, despite ongoing tensions in the Middle East. Speaking on Saturday, he tells French broadcaster Canal+ that, based on the information available to the sport, the schedule is confirmed for both venues.

The comments come as other parts of the calendar have faced disruption. The Bahrain Grand Prix, for example, is relocated to Sepang in Malaysia this weekend, and some reports note that races in the region, including Saudi Arabia, have previously been scrapped. Al-Monitor, The Guardian, and Free Malaysia Today report that Domenicali is actively monitoring developments and keeping teams and drivers informed about the situation.

Across the outlets, the central point is the same: F1 has not changed plans for the Qatar and Abu Dhabi events and is proceeding with preparations, while observing regional developments that have already affected other races.
