Yankees All-Star starting pitcher Cam Schlittler makes remarks about the Tampa Bay Rays’ crowd ahead of the American League Division Series matchup. Both outlets describe him taking aim at the Rays’ fans as New York prepares for its upcoming start, framing the comments as part of the buildup to the postseason game.
The reports also connect his statements to expectations of a Yankees-heavy presence in the ballpark. Yahoo Sports emphasizes that Schlittler anticipates many New York fans for his Game 2 start. Newsweek similarly highlights the “shot” directed at Rays supporters but focuses more on the tone of the exchange leading into the series, rather than on specific crowd numbers or operational details.
While the outlets differ slightly in how they characterize the remarks—one centering the jabs at Rays fans and the other focusing on who is expected to attend—the core point is consistent: Schlittler comments on the Rays crowd and the anticipated atmosphere before the ALDS.
