Denny Hamlin secures pole position for Sunday’s NASCAR South Point 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The AP report cited in Yahoo Sports says Hamlin posts the fastest qualifying lap, giving him the lead on the grid for the race.
The qualifying result also shapes the points chase. Hamlin, listed as second in the Cup Series standings, is positioned to gain ground on Kyle Larson, who starts the race from sixth after qualifying. Other details, such as the exact lap time and starting order beyond these positions, are not provided in the excerpts available from the outlets.
