Daly Cherry-Evans kicks off a grand final match and the ball strikes the Spidercam early in play, according to multiple reports.
The incident occurs shortly after the opening phase of the game. All three outlets describe the kick being the moment of contact, with the Spidercam taking the impact. While the reports share the same core description—early in the grand final and involving a kick from Cherry-Evans—none of the provided summaries add further details on the resulting delay, any official response, or how the match continues.
With only these brief accounts, the main point of agreement across outlets is the timing and the cause-and-effect: Cherry-Evans’ kick hits Spidercam during the early part of the grand final.
