A coastal longline fishing boat capsizes in waters off Jeju, South Korea, early on Monday. Authorities say the vessel had 11 people on board and nine are rescued, while two remain missing. The incident occurs about 65 kilometers northwest of Chagwi Island.

The Jeju Coast Guard reports the boat capsizes at around 3:04 a.m. Nearby fishing vessels find and rescue the crew. The nine rescued include eight Indonesians and one Vietnamese, and they are reported to be in stable condition. The two missing are the Korean captain and one Indonesian crew member.

Search and rescue operations are underway. Officials dispatch helicopters and patrol vessels to the scene, and additional resources are mobilized, including a Navy vessel and other civilian fishing boats. The exact cause of the capsizing has not been determined. South Korea’s Prime Minister orders full mobilization of available personnel and equipment to prioritize rescue efforts and ensure accurate confirmation of the number of people aboard.
