With those outcomes, KT Wiz open a 4½-game lead over the Lions with four games remaining. The Lions cannot surpass the Wiz on winning percentage even if they win their remaining games and KT Wiz lose theirs, effectively locking in the pennant for KT.
The Korea Times and Yonhap reports also note that the pennant gives KT Wiz their second franchise championship-season berth, having previously won the pennant in 2021.
