Apple is adjusting Focus Mode controls for the upcoming foldable iPhone Duo, with reports pointing to new lock screen behavior in iOS 27. Developers following iOS code changes say the lock screen will surface a control related to the currently active Focus, allowing quicker changes without leaving the lock screen.
MacRumors and AppleInsider both describe a redesigned Focus button on the iPhone Duo’s lock screen. They say that when a Focus Mode is active, a dedicated button appears above the lock screen’s bottom controls that lets the user turn the Focus off and on while remaining on the lock screen. AppleInsider adds that the Focus control is more minimalist, and that the Focus icon placement changes on unlocking, moving above the clock in the status area.
Separately, 9to5Mac highlights broader iPhone Duo-specific UI adaptations in iOS 27 tied to the device’s foldable form factor. It reports that the iPhone dock is positioned on the right-hand side of the outer display rather than at the bottom, indicating Apple is reshaping interface elements to suit the Duo’s unique layout. Across outlets, the common theme is real-time iOS changes that take advantage of the foldable design.
