Taylor Swift’s “Patient Zero” reaches No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, ending Ella Langley’s record run at the top with “Choosin’ Texas.” Billboard reports it becomes Swift’s 16th Hot 100 leader.

According to Billboard and Variety, “Choosin’ Texas” previously held the No. 1 spot for a record 24 weeks. Variety adds that “Patient Zero” replaces the song at the top for at least one week and notes that Swift’s “Encore” is also present across the chart, filling four of the top five positions.

The New York Post similarly reports that “Patient Zero” overtakes “Choosin’ Texas,” stating it ends Langley’s streak on the Hot 100. Across outlets, the main difference is emphasis: Billboard focuses on Swift’s chart milestone, while Variety highlights the reshuffling of multiple top chart slots and the “Encore” presence.
