Casey Bloys, the executive who oversees HBO Max and Paramount+, signs a new multiyear contract extension as he transitions into a new role at Skydance. Variety and Deadline both report that Bloys’ deal is renewed for several years rather than ending as previously planned.

The reports say Bloys has been named co-chair and chief content officer for Skydance’s direct-to-consumer (DTC) unit, a position that includes responsibility for HBO Max and Paramount+. Deadline adds that his contract renewal runs through the end of 2027. Variety similarly describes the extension as a continuation of his current oversight, noting that his HBO contract was previously set to expire the following year.

Both outlets frame the renewal as part of standard practice for senior hires at this level, with the main difference being the emphasis: Variety focuses on Bloys “staying put” across the platforms as he assumes the Skydance DTC leadership role, while Deadline emphasizes the specific end date of the contract and the integration of HBO Max and Paramount+ teams.
