A Makati City Regional Trial Court has issued an arrest warrant for Batangas 1st District Representative Leandro Leviste over an alleged violation of the Public Service Act. The court is reported to have set Leviste’s bail at P72,000. One outlet specifies the warrant is issued by Makati RTC Branch 235 and that the warrant date is October 5, while others broadly describe the issuance without naming the branch or date. Another report notes the NBI has not yet provided further case details. Leviste is also reported to have been abroad in France with his mother, Senator Loren Legarda, after they traveled on Aug. 2.
