The athlete, known online as Abeeeer (Yuanyuan Sun), initially posted a result celebrating what she described as a personal best time and dismissed the incident only after images circulated.
According to reports, photos appeared showing her on a bicycle near the 38km mark, with one outlet describing her as riding in a pillion-like manner. After the allegations spread, she acknowledged what she called “truly dishonest behavior” and apologised publicly. The incident also affects her commercial relationships: one source says she is dropped by a sponsor following the controversy. Outlets differ in how they frame the conduct, but they agree the athlete rode a bike during the marathon despite crossing the finish line and that she issues an apology once the evidence emerged.
