Indian cricketer Virat Kohli and his team deny an allegation that he was paid ₹5 crore to visit spiritual leader Premanand Maharaj’s ashram in Vrindavan. The claim is made by Dinesh Falahari (also referred to as Falahari Maharaj), president of Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi Sangharsh Nyas, who says mediators associated with an ashram-linked group arranged the meeting and that ₹5 crore was provided, including amounts paid by cheque and at Kohli’s Delhi residence.
Kohli’s spokesperson rejects the accusation as “completely false, baseless and factually incorrect,” saying Kohli’s visits are driven by personal faith and reverence for Premanand Maharaj. Multiple outlets note that Kohli and his wife, actor Anushka Sharma, are regular visitors to the Radha Keli Kunj Ashram, with one cited first notable visit on January 4, 2023. Falahari continues to stand by his version and challenges Kohli to have his company accounts checked, while reports also say the payment claim has not been independently verified.
Overall, outlets present the dispute as a clash between Falahari’s money-related allegation and Kohli’s denial, with no independently confirmed evidence of a payment record reported so far.
