A three-part documentary, titled “Diana Unheard,” is set to use secret audio recordings made by Princess Diana. Multiple outlets report that the tapes are being provided to a production company for the first time in their entirety, with the aim of presenting Diana’s own recorded perspective in the programme.

The recordings are described as never-before-heard material, though some parts have been linked to earlier media use: one account says the tapes were previously used for a best-selling book published in 1992. The documentary is also said to draw on themes raised by Earl Spencer, Diana’s brother, including claims he has made in connection with King Charles. Outlets describe a disagreement between Spencer and the Palace following Spencer’s recent book “Swan Song,” and say the documentary is poised to address that dispute. Producers are reported to credit Diana’s recordings—passed via individuals associated with her circle and her connection to author Andrew Morton—as the documentary’s foundation.
